Rebecca Winthrop is the co-author of a book The Disengaged Teen. The book addresses how adolescents can become bored or overwhelmed in school, losing their love of learning. By recognizing one of four “modes” of disengagement (Resister, Passenger, Achiever, or Explorer), parents and educators can use a variety of strategies to help teens stay on the path to motivation, well-being, and academic flourishing.

Winthrop will focus on tangible actions that parents of our grade 4-8 learners can take to get ahead of disengagement by identifying their student's dominant mode to prevent and/or overcome the pitfalls associated with each.
